Yes, the basic theme is drawn on the paper ahead of time, the details evolve as the piece progresses.I love the details! I saw a piece of paper (?) in their hands in a few photos. Is that the "concept"?

I was "hunting" a faint raibow. These are the photos I took instead:

The same field as a few days ago, partially.

My pleasure! I'm glad you like it. The flowers are poppies, all of them.I've seen amazing rainbows in incredible places around the world, but I think your first picture (red and purple flower bands in the field) beats them all. Thank you for this one Johanna!
[h=1]photos of Niagara Falls – both American and Canadian sides[/h]
Such a beautiful pic! Would love to see it myself!
Hi Leelai - not the highest falls in the world, but quite spectacular 'in person' and the roar of the water is special. The 'American' & 'Canadian' sides have different personalities, the latter more of a 'horseshoe' appearance as shown below. The Maid of the Mist is the boat ride that gets you pretty close (we've taken the tour twice) - a close-up of the boat also below - plastic covers are provided so you don't get too soaked. Hi Dave! It's just so beautiful....quite grand and majestic I think! So it's the Canadian side from which you see it all?? We were thinking of going when we were in New York a few years ago but just couldn't spare the time then. Thing was we got waylaid in LA for 4 days due to a Qantas strike, just wish we would have known that was going to happen!
Would still love to see it and we are planning to go to the US later this year....our daughter has scored a uni internship at Disneyworld for 6 months so we will be making a visit to see her in Florida. We don't know where else we'll go at this stage but that's just got to be on the agenda if I get my way!
Well, the river splits before the falls and Goat Island is in-between, as shown below - the best close-up views of each portion are seen correspondingly 'on land' from the USA for the American side & from Canada for the 'horseshoe' falls; BUT, on the boat, both falls are seen close-up and then together where the boat docks - hope that you are able to see Niagara & environs. Now - don't know if you've seen the film 'Niagara' w/ Marilyn Monroe & Joseph gotten, but I just replaced my old DVD w/ the Blu-ray disc below - won't spoil the ending if you've not seen this movie, but creates the feeling of going over the falls in a barrel - BTW - Susan & I have vacationed in FL once or twice a year for the last few decades - if you want any ideas of 'what' to do in the state on your visit, then please ask - Dave .
Great little map Dave...I've saved that one to show hubby.
I'm sure I've seen that movie but a very long time ago so I can't remember it too clearly.
I don't know where we will go and hubby is talking about taking a cruise from Florida, although I'm just not good on any type of boat/ship.
Would love to hear of any must see places in Florida Dave, that would be very good to hear of your trips there...we know absolutely nothing about that area and I haven't done any research as yet on it as our daughter only got the final acceptance for Disneyworld recently.
Looking forward to hearing more!!
Hi Leelai - Florida is a big state - shaped like an upside down L w/ the Panhandle at the top and the rest from north to south, i.e. a peninsula basically - the distance from Amelia Island (great Ritz Hotel there) to Key Largo (between the two red arrows in the map below) is about 400 miles! Orlando is in the center of the state (blue arrow). My in-laws use to live in Delray Beach (green arrow), so we saw then at least annually, but also before and after my FIL passed away did yearly vacations, so I've been from Amelia Island down the entire east coast to the Florida Keys & Key West a couple of times, and up the west coast to above Tarpon Springs, and to Orlando on numerous occasions (a lot of medical meetings are held there and I use to speak at most of them I attended). So, not sure how many days you plan to visit and whether you'll be renting a car - there are plenty of things to do around Orlando and many 'day trips' w/ a car from that location. If you have more time, then some overnights can be suggested. Finally, regarding a cruise (which we've not done), there are many options out of the Lauderdale and West Palm Beach areas - our son & wife love Disneyland and have taken tours on their boats from the Cape Kennedy Space Center. So let me stop there and let you 'digest' that map - be glad to make suggestions as your plans evolve. Dave .
