Nice work tp. Mind if I post in my Twitter feed?

Not at all. One friend already did, from my Google+ page. Yes, I have one of those, though I'm not terrible active on it. Of course that's true of most social networks. I spend more time here than almost anywhere else.

Your video was really quite clear......I too enjoyed the flowing clouds.

I tried all different ways of taking a photo, all were very bad....especially when blown up!

But it was still very nice to see it!

The spotting scope goes from 20x to 60x and has a 65mm primary lens (which helps with light gathering). I spend most of the time on 40x as full magnification was too finicky to get good pictures at night. There's also an adjustment that places the eye (or iPhone) closer to the eyepiece lens, and that make a huge difference in the size of the image the iPhone can capture.

I also had to use my headphones as a remote shutter to keep the vibration down.

All in all, a very finicky set up. I wanted it primarily to take wildlife photos, but I suspect it's going to be very hard to use it that way. Still, it's a really cool toy, and that's what rocks my world.

There were a few neighbors out watching the ellipse as well. I had fun letting them look through the setup, and pointing out that the bright reddish star near the moon was Mars; very appropriate for a blood moon.

This is one of the orchids in my living room

Thanks. Your picture is as good as any I got with the eclipse that far along. iPhones just don't have a great low light camera.

Video tends to obscure how bad the individual stills are.

very true, i have great difficulty using my iPhone camera in dark situations, even with the flash the pictures are poor quality. However these issues will get sorted in the near future.

JA you must have green thumbs! No one I know can grow them and keep them alive for very long! It's the magic of where you live! :);) :);)

I like them as well. It's easy to care for them - mostly. And they seem to like my living room and kitchen windows. ;-)

I have attached mine to my palm trees.....it's just lovely having the splash of colour up high in my garden.

I don't ever cut mine but every now and then hubby will.

Here's one I've had for 3 weeks, although the bottom blooms are now gone.....they do last so very long!

Very beautiful colour!

I have to keep mine in my house. They wouldn't last for long time with our weather conditions.

I wish I had. Usually the one with the green thumbs is my mother, whereas my flowers don't survive my care. ;-)
There are only orchids and violets that don't last long when she cares for them, while I never have problems with these.
