Stayed up for most of the lunar eclipse, and videoed it using the iPhone, my SnapZoom adaptor and the Bushnell spotting scope. The results aren't great, but I had fun. YouTube Link: http://youtu.be/hABhCKXJGrM

Very nice Twerppoet...... Your scope works a treat to me, just so clear and really lovely!

It's just finished here or will in a few minutes......

Here's the best of a bad bunch for me!
Stayed up for most of the lunar eclipse, and videoed it using the iPhone, my SnapZoom adaptor and the Bushnell spotting scope. The results aren't great, but I had fun. It's a little over 4 minutes, after I deleted a 'lot' of stuff. YouTube Link: http://youtu.be/hABhCKXJGrM
That was WONDERFUL TPoet! It was amazing the way the vantage point of the moon kept changing? And then superimposing the one in focus with the misty one was behind it and so large! That must have been a LOT of a work! So the wobbly moon I saw was part of the eclipse I guess! I didn't even know there was going to BE one! Thanks for making and sharing that with us!
You are far too humble! IMO!

I enjoyed the video. You got some good scenes in spite of the cloudy weather.

I really enjoyed that. I have never hung around long enough to see an eclipse in full. This had a kind of sense of drama about it and was really well done! A good night’s work, I'd say:)

I like it. It wasn't visible in Europe, but thanks to your video I could watch it. :-)
Was this a reason why you purchased the Bushnell spotting scope?

Thanks. Your picture is as good as any I got with the eclipse that far along. iPhones just don't have a great low light camera.

Video tends to obscure how bad the individual stills are.

Just standard transition in iMovie (on the Mac). With the moon magnified that much it actually moves across the view. I had to stop recording at least very minute or two and re-position the scope; so the transitions were needed to keep things from jumping around.

Your video was really quite clear......I too enjoyed the flowing clouds.

I tried all different ways of taking a photo, all were very bad....especially when blown up!

But it was still very nice to see it!
