I see a lot of those bugs where I live. Do you know what kind they are?
Both pictures are very goood.

No problem. We called them elder bugs when I was a kid. I thought they were named after my grandpa, Eldred.

Hey TP - LOL about the grandpa comment! :D When I introduced my future wife, Susan, to my maternal grandfather (Grover) in the late 1960s, she later told me that 'he had the biggest ears of any old man she had ever seen' (pic of him below from the early '60s) - I told her that we called him Dumbo (jokingly, of course - he was a great guy - born when Grover Cleveland was president, hence his first name). Now, he was not my 'genetic' grandfather, so my ears are normal in size, I think? - ;) Dave

Reminds me of the artist R.C. Gorman (1931-2005) - just a print of his artwork below; Susan & I have collected art (mainly original prints) for decades, and I've always liked Gorman's prints but she was not as enthused, so we have none of his works, despite virtually all of the walls in our house filled w/ works of others; just curious if the artist of that sculpture was influenced by Gorman? Dave :)

Thanks SciFan.. - I was able to zoom on your image and saw her name, Judith Christine Mills - born in England (cannot find the year on her website) - now a Canadian w/ a remarkable gift for variety - her imagery and that of Gorman's is quite similar - will explore her website more. Dave :)

Judith Christine Mills was born in Yorkshire, England and emigrated to Canada as a young child. Primarily self-taught, she began drawing and sculpting in her teens and in the early 1980's decided to pursue a fulltime career as an artist, participating in many group and solo exhibitions in Toronto, Halifax, Edmonton, Calgary, Montreal, Chicago, Baltimore, and Kennebunkport, Maine.
