Finally I got time to take pictures again today.

This photo shows a different view of the tree that I had on a few photos before, seen from the other side of Darscho, reflected by the water. It's standing in the middle of a wheat field. The wheat looks like it'll be harvested soon.

Last weekend, Spikey was here again. It was a hot day. After a walk around Darscho, we both had to wait for my daughter in her car, with all windows and one door open. The poor dog was hiding in the shadow of the car's back seat. The picture is edited. There wouldn't be much difference to the original, though, because he's black.

The second photo was taken yesterday, half an hour before sunset, after a rainy day, when the sun was covered by clouds again. The hut is near my village. This photo is edited, too.

A couple of nice pictures there Johanna, thank you. Spikey's a handsome guy! The area where you live must be great for taking a dog for a walk.

My little fella has a thick coat too and is often panting, which is apparently the only natural way they can cool off. (Well a nice big beer would be good too if alcohol wasn't bad for them:))

Spikey really is handsome, and he knows about this. :) My daughter told me that his fur will be trimmed sometime in July, but he'll have to suffer until then.

It looks like Bundy was waiting for something when you took this picture. A treat? :) He's so cute!

Treats? You have no idea how spoilt this little guy is, in fact we're probably going to watch his weight soon. We've made space in the pantry just for his stuff:) Just this afternoon I took him for a walk to our local "Foodland" supermarket and ended up buying another packet of treats. Why? Because these are called "Schmackos" and the packet clearly states on the back "Dogs go whacko over a schmacko!"(Jeah, I know, you are right in whatever you are thinking:rolleyes:)
Here's a quick snap of the packet with my iPad...poor lighting but also, for the first time, wanted to upload a photo with our new software...which is quite nice to use:)

Susan and I are on a short trip to the Finger Lakes area of Upper New York State (our first vist) - over a dozen 'long' lakes of various sizes exist (may have to start a new travelogue) - this is a MAJOR wine producing area - we are staying in Watkins Glen (bottom of Seneca Lake) @ the Harbor Hotel (below) w/ a lakefront view.

The wine country is concentrated in the southern half of Seneca Lake (both sides), Lake Keuka (which will be a day trip), and to a lesser extent Cayuga Lake. Our outings will mainly include winery visits and boat trips - hope the weather holds up. Dave :)

The story of this afternoon's walk:

Before I started, I could have known that it may be raining before I've finished my tour. There were signs...
image.webp

It was still sunny, when I found this bird sitting in a tree. It seemed to be laughing at me.

I was more than halfway through, when I felt the first drops. Within a few minutes, it started pouring. I got soaking wet and tried to protect my camera with my arms, hiding it at the left side, because the rain was coming from my right side. In fact, there were just a few drops when I looked at it afterwards. The rain stopped as sudden as it had started. Within minutes, the sun was burning down again, and the raindrops were glistening in the sunlight.

And now I'm curious about how this story will show up when I post it...

Thank you! :)
That one is actually the only one I could use from the pictures I took after the rain. I still have to get the hang of it. :)

In and around the Saskatchewan Legislative building on Canada Day, part 2. The wrought iron screen above the door to the Legislative Chamber has the monogram ER for Edwardus Rex.,this is the only place where the monogram of Edward VII appears, as he died during construction. All other Royal monograms are GR for Georgius Rex. The fountain was originally located in Trafalgar Square in London, England from 1845-1939. It is one of a pair, the other is in Ottawa, Ontario.
