iCal syncing

Since I sync with MobileMe, when I sync my iPad with my iMac I get double appointments on my iPad. I un-click sync calendars in iTunes, but everytime I sync it is re-checked. I would like to have iCal only sync through MobileMe. I searched through posts but couldn't find an answer. Any help or advice would be appreciated.
