All my iBooks disappeared from my ipad2 when I upgraded to ios5. How do I get them back? I feel stupid but how did this happen and I will appreciate help to get the books back.

If you purchased them from the iBook Store, then all you need to do is go back to the iBook Store, check out the Purchased tab and download the ones you want. You won't be charged for re-downloading books you've already purchased. This is the easiest method.
If you added them by other means, and they are not in iTunes on your computer, you will have to find and add them again manually; by whatever method you used before.
