ibook doesn't work on my ipad

You will need to be a little more clear in your question.

What's not working? iBooks the app? A specific book type?

There are ebook readers available for virtually ebook format in the app store.

From where did you get the e-book? Did you buy it from a different seller than iTunes? Or, was it something you made for yourself?

iBooks can only read ePub and PDF format books. If the book is a different format, you need to download a different book reader app
