I have an IPad 3 and was wondering if i can 'find my iPad via my Motorola Android 4G?
Sorry, find my iPad will only work on iOS devices and Mac computers.
Couldn't you log into www.icloud.com on your Motorola devices's web browser and look from there? I don't know this for sure, but I can log into it on my Microsoft PC and "find my iPad." I don't have a non-Apple mobile device to check, but maybe that'll work?

I know it's possible on some Android tablets to do it that way so in theory at least it should work on an Android phone as well

Use a web browser that can pretend it's a desktop browser at iCloud.com
