I can't close open apps now!

Does anyone else have this problem! I swipe up to close open apps like I used to but now I just get a panoramic display of all the apps. How do you close them now?

Turn off Background App Refresh. If you leave it on, most apps will start to re-cache themselves, which is what you're seeing.

Swipe up on the thumbnail of the app, not the icon,and it should close.

Just put your finger on the large thumbnail in the middle, not the icon, and flick it up to the top of the screen.

Woops. Saw OP say swipe up so I was assuming she was swiping the thumbnails.
