Hi and welcome to the Forum,

There are many different ways to watch movies, depending on where you are and if you have a subscription, Netflix is a good avenue.

DVD movies can be downloaded to your iPad by way of iTunes or can be purchased or rented from iTunes also

There is an app Crackle that has movies and is rather good.
