How do I move files from my Windows laptop to iPad?

I know it can be done thru Dropbox or similar cloud service, but wanting to know how to do it with an USB.

A lot of apps have the ability to use iTunes to transfer data and files to an app.

Once you've connected your iPad to iTunes via the USB cord, go to the Apps tab - then scroll down to the bottom of that page. You should see a list of apps that will allow you to copy/paste or "drag and drop" files over to the iPad.

Hopefully, that makes sense.

Here's Apple's support page on File Sharing via iTunes; what Marilyn is talking about. Unfortunately the screenshots have not been updated for the current version of iTunes. All the mentioned features are still there, but you'll have to hunt for their new hiding places.
