Hi there.

Using the family's old ipad on windows.

I managed to recover back to stock 4.3.1 rom jailbreak However, I'm having trouble updating to 4.3.3 or even 5.0.1.

Either it keeps giving me a 2005 if I go to DFU mode, or 1604 on normal recovery mode. Not to mention we only have one computer connected to the net. So far it's stuck on recovery mode right now.

The main, and most important question I have for you is: Do you have SHSH blobs for either of those two iOS versions that you are trying to put on the iPad? Because if you don't, you can never load those iOS versions.

To see what iOS blobs you might have, take a look a this thread, which will give you a tutorial on how to use a program called Tiny Umbrella to look for and save SHSH blobs: http://www.ipadforums.net/showthread.php?t=42301

You download Tiny Umbrella to your computer, not the iPad (won't/can't run on the iPad).

If that's not what you meant by it hanging, my apologies and - what do you mean by Tiny Umbrella hanging?

TInyumbrella stopped working for a while and i just reset it. So far it's back up. no SHSH for 5.0.1. Curses.

Is there a way to downgrade 5.1.1 to 5.0.1?

Sure is! Have a look at this link for a tutorial on how to do it: http://www.ipadforums.net/showthread.php?t=69285

But if may be so bold - hang in there for a couple of more days. We are expecting a jail break for iOS 5.1.1 "any moment"! So, you can just wait and then use the new tools and not have to go through the hassle of downgrading to 5.0.1.

Keep and eye on either of these two threads for the announcement of the jail break release:

Just a suggestion...
