I am new to the iPad and I am frustrated. I can not find the volume button. I feel so stupid. Pls help

Hi it's on the right hand side of the iPad black short button the bottom 1 and the top one is to turn it on silent and the button on the top of iPad is for sleep mode and the one on the face of the iPad is to bring it alive lol

Hi! Glad you found us. The volume button is the long rocker button on the edge. However, if you have muted the iPad you may have to check two other places. Just above the volume button is a smaller button that can be set to mute the sound or set to lock the screen orientation. Another place to check is to double press the home button or use a 4 finger swipe up to show the bottom bar. Now swipe to the right to see various controls that include volume and mute or lock screen.

The volume external switch is on the upper right side when you are holding your iPad in portrait position. Another way I learned was to press the home button twice until you get your multi-task bar on the bottom. Swipe the screen to the right until you hit the volume panel. I learned this from Moderator, Leelai. Hope this helps for you!
