HDMI and Bluetooth Audio

Hi, when connected to a TV via HDMI my iPad (Retina with latest iOS) seems unable to also connect to my Bluetooth Jambox speaker.

Is it possible for audio to output from both the TV and the Bluetooth speaker at the same time?

I read that connecting to the Bluetooth speaker after connecting the HDMI cable to the TV is a solution, but that didn't work for me...
