I live in an oven. The average temp from April - October is 90+. I was born and raise just outside NYC. I love nothing better than sleeping with the windows open while it's snowing out. As for why I left, my father and I didn't have the best relationship and I had gotten to the point were I no longer feared him and got big enough that he was no longer a threat to me. Had I stayed, I probably would have killed him. I even warned him that if he ever raised a hand to hit either of my sister's, I'd be back to deal with him. Now I can't afford to move back north. Now there is nothing there for me anymore.

I'm the same regarding the temperature. It got down to -9 degrees here last winter and only then did I cave and put the heat in briefly, but I still never close my windows! I love the heat and sunshine if I'm on or near water, but here it is unbearable and we generally don't get anywhere near those insanely high temperatures, and certainly not for such a lengthy time period each year.

I'm really very sorry if I put my foot in it regarding your reasons for leaving. I'm sorry you had to deal with all of that with your father, but I'm glad you managed to get out of your bad situation. Stay strong mate x
