The most important thing, Anthea, in my experience, is to watch the pre-game show. During that you get to "know" just who the heck is playing, and you get to pick whoever you think are the nicest chaps who ought to win. It's important to also pay attention to the outfits they wear, and pick the team who not only have the nicest chaps, but also the best color scheme. Once you've decided who to "root" for, the next most important thing is to have lots of chips, popcorn, Ritz crackers, and cheese in a can. Beverages must be of either the fizzy sort, or some sort of beer. Then you pick the spot on the couch where you can lay in a vegetative state very comfortably for the next four hours and vote for the most entertaining commercial. And that, basically, is the Super Bowl.
The only reason I'm backing the Seahawks is that I live in Seattle and it's just what you have to do if you live here. They are completely nuts about the Seahawks here, and, quite frankly, I'm scared to not back them.
So - "Go Hawks!!!"
Now - I bet everybody who's against them 2 bolts per farmer!

you are so funny, I have to rad this to my bronco fan in the am. . Bet on 2 bolts, that is kinda cheesy, should do at least 10 bolts. But I am writing you down for 2 bolts. BTW I have 2 bolts 10 nails, on my way to championship! Lol

Well, I figured if lots of people bet against the Hawks, and the Hawks lose, I'm gonna owe a lotta bolts....not that that's going to actually happen, of course ;)

This is the only kind of analysis that matters, in my opinion, when deciding on whom to barrack for, regardless of the sport. Unfortunately you can't "root" for a sports person or team in Australia, because that has another meaning entirely. :) This is the kind of analysis I apply when choosing my favourite tennis players, tennis being the sport I enjoy watching the most, with athletics in second place. If watching Wimbledon, most players wear white, so you have to look at the accent colours on their headbands or trainers. I also take into account their hairstyles, and their little OCD routines that they adopt prior to serving. If their routine is too irritating, then I withdraw my support.
