Not exactly. In papers I go for planks first, and I can trade some. This way they are always behind a bit but not too much. Works ok for me. Somehow I wouldn't want to sell all the other barn stuff. It feels like a selffulfilling theory then in a way.
Sell the other stuff and you will always have more planks

Ok I have a tip of the day, this one isn't that great and may be obvious, but I only figured it out the other day.

On your friends bar if you click on the followers tab and then back to the friends tab it brings you back to the top of your friends list. I use it if I am towards the bottom and want to get to the top quickly.

It also resets when you restart your game, but that takes longer than scrolling anyway do it isn't really useful.

the point is that you will see the paper having more planks, advertised or concealed or both. So you can buy more of those and having more. and it goes exponential.
I lost count of all the planks I bought today in the paper, probably around 20 or so, but I only found 5-6 bolts for instance...

I also realized this today when I was going around for toolboxes

also, restarting the game will refresh the paper. sometimes you can have a good round, restart game and a new good one comes right after. that'sit if you are fed up of bacon and eggs, try and restart game.
not much of a tip really. sometimes the game restarts of its own regardless

So the general number is more or less constant, you just try to have plenty of planks cos you can trade better with them?
Maybe I'll give it a shot, but at the moment it is well balanced.
