All queues for sugar, dairy, whatever takes shorter times to make, that way they produce the whole time I'm away or sleeping. Less on the things that take a very long time to produce, like jam machine and smelters.

how many slots/queue did you guys open for all the machines?
i'm thinking of expanding it but i dont know which to choose from..

I've been focusing on the dairy and sugar mill. I have all the dairy slots open (9) and 7 on the sugar mill. It made sense to me because those are the products that I use the most and they take the shortest amount of time. So having more slots on them makes them more productive when I'm not on.

On machines like the cake and pie makers I have 3. I feel comfortable where they are for now because I can fill them up with stuff that takes a long time (cheesecakes for example) and they stay productive the whole time.

i opened my dairy and sugar to 4 slots already.. but i'm thinking of opening more..
should i increase more on the dairy and sugar or should i increase in bakery machine since i never upgrade it and also the coffe kiosk?

I only upgraded once one of my mills. I guess it depends on the number of animals you have and what you want to do with them.For instance I only have 3 sheep since I don't produce clothes and just sell wool as soon as I get it. It's just about finding a balance I guess.

Nope, I have a system. Lol I make sheep and goat feed at night and the rest during the day. It does take barn space but my animals are never hungry. I will leave my chickens and cows sitting sometimes.
