Yes, I did that with bacon and eggs to, to keep the ad in the paper for longer, but much higher chance of people not bothering to come to your stall at all because they may not want to look at bacon and eggs.. however, both strategies will more than likely be effective in different ways.
I always put my ad in my trade slot, so I know I can still utilise it and not worry about it remaining full so I can't trade in it

I might try put the horse's poo with cherry on top and see if they will still grab em..

I always try to move the ad around within the last few stalls so no one will buy it right off and it usually fails someone buys the darn thing every time, usually pretty fast :/ my best spot for me where I'm able to keep it a while is the bottom stalls 3 or 4 from the end lol...am i putting way to much thought into this?

lmao dhi, horse manure is good for growing flowers, roses especially I think. Maybe supercell give us other nice things to grow, lol.
Not too much thought, I think it's cool to try to work out the best ways to do things.
My wheat ad rarely lasts more than 3 mins, but that's enough to empty my silo of wheat that I don't want
