When a box is locked, don't click on the X to close it but tap on an area outside of the message. Go to another farm and try to open it. Repeat until the box opens. Best tip I've gotten from this game.

I'm a bit late coming in on this discussion but I agree. I have had Tom constantly since I learned this trick and have consistently got between 2 and 5 boxes of diamonds every day. It is time consuming but the jewellery Tom gets for me allows me to keep filling jewellery orders off the board for vouchers and gets lots of coin (just became a HD millionaire today, yay!!)
