I don't understand why HayDay progress is lost in the case above, I play it on the iPad, then one day I decided to install it on the iPhone for the first time, and the progress made on the iPad was there, I thought it was GC login that dealt with it

Edit: though just thought of something, a year or so ago I played MyTown2, I spoilt the game by using an exploit, so I deleted the game. When I deleted the game, it asked, 'Do you want to delete all info from GC' I pressed yes, and then when I re-installed, I could start again.
Could this have happened?

My iPad died a couple of days ago...that's where this all began. New iPad today, restored from an iCloud back-up, then another one from an earlier date. In both cases, no Hay Day progress saved in iCloud. Go figure. GC log in and out makes no difference. First person to come up with a solution will go straight to Heaven! I have played for literally months, and was at level 64...

Racking my brains, personally think it is GC related rather than iCloud related, as the game can be played on multiple devices, the funny thing is, my iCloud backup contains 5Kb of Hay Day data on the iPad yet 18.6 Mb on the iPhone, strange.

I imagine you are right. GC is the common denominator here.

Best bet would be for someone to download the game who has never used GC before, and log in to GC with EyeC's credentials, and see what happens. Course, it's going to have to be someone EyeC can trust, which rules all of us Internet weirdos out. Then we can see if the data exists anywhere. Like at GCHQ, for example. There's still a chance we can figure out where this data has gone.

I wouldn't delete it from GC, that's how I deliberately lost progress from MyTown2

It's OK, I've tried everything else anyway, what more could go wrong? I have clawed my way back up to level 7 this evening and am looking forward to making cornbread for the "first time". Shoot me. Seriously.
