Don't think the risk is as high as accidently accelerating trees or animals.

No, even I do that though , there should be a threshold beyond which there is confirmation. A couple of diamonds, yes, fair enough, but annoying, but there's the potential to lose 100s or even 1000s if you had them. I could (if I was rich), buy a trunk of diamonds, and then accidentally spend the lot taking the jeweler to level 3.
