I get that error sometimes when my picture is too large. Resizing has helped.

Where do you try opening the toolboxes. Friends, followers, always the same place 'refreshed'?
Got 5 diamonds as well, but found it too boring once I got a streak of 20+ without an unlocked one.

I spend the diamonds on production slots, so you can keep most machines running during the night. Helped my sugar stock a lot!
Other than that you could always buy Tom for a day and get jewlery for example from him.

edit: I try to always have at least 15 diamonds in case I should want Tom (hardly happens, but who knows...).
And I also try not to have too many, because I don't want to accidently spend them.

I have a bit of a system, lol... I will look in the paper and every farm I get to I check the toolbox, when I have got bored of the paper I start on my friends list and also do boat orders and revive trees while I'm there. When I have gone through my friends, I move onto the followers and then start the process again. I don't tend to do strangers boats unless I have a lot of what they need, I reserve my stock for my friends.

I haven't used Tom since the freebie at the beginning but then the way the game is unstable at the moment with a lot of down time, I don't want to waste him. I will probably use Tom when I have my jewellery machine up and running, wont be long now
