This was my theory a while ago, I could harvest and find planks in the paper like crazy
But then I didn't play for days, lost the pace and now don't have so many planks anymore. I only have 3 spare planks now

Whatever you have more of will be wheated more. It's like the visitors. They always ask for the top 3 you have more of OR the things you have 0 of.
I have more bolts than the other barn materials. So I have been wheating bolts more than planks/tapes. I had more panels for silo and so I wheat more of it. I rather wheat nails than panels (panels I find more in paper and easier to buy here too) and so now and then I'll sell panel off in stall or trade here so my nails are always higher. Ditto with planks. I try to wheat more planks so I try to keep planks higher and I do wheat more planks than anything else. But lately bolts have been a tad difficult to find and so I alternate between bolts and planks. I had too many bolts and so been wheating it than planks. Thus my recent attempt to get rid of the bolts so I can go back to wheating planks
