Anyone know how to get game to restart on the iPad?

Yes. Double tap your home button and the list of apps that you've opened will show on the bottom. Hold down HD. When it starts to wiggle with a red negative sign, click the negative sign.

Hold the home key and off key and do a reboot... Should work when it comes back on.
