I tried this theory. I secretly set up a farm on hubby's phone and transferred my building materials except 3 nails amd 3 bolts. I still just got planks and panels. So then transferred planks and panels again when got 4 of each (nails and bolts still on 3 each) to hubby bring them back down to 0. Sadly still only got mainly panels and planks. :/

I truly believe that it creates the necessity for selling excess items and buying what your short on....keeps the game going!! It's what we do here, trade excess for what we need. It would be boring otherwise.

That's another theory I have... Whatever you have most will be requested more often. I did captain 3 mostly on my own. I didn't get any sugar request because my sugar was just average. I recently have been getting more sugar boats (which I send away) but I think it's cause I have a decent stash now. Not crazy lots but more than the other products. Then, whatever you don't have will also be requested by visitors, besides what you have most of. So now I try to always have more wheat so that I can happily sell and get my points towards badge number 3 for selling to 2000 times to visitors.
