I've a question ... If you see a chest on a farm, do you close it down after checking its unlocked or leave it there for someone else to find?

I always thought it was only there for the person visiting and it varies the amount of chests by the amount you actually open. For example, if I visit 2 farms, a chest on both, I decline both chests, I won't get any for a while. If I visit a farm and open the chest, I get them on EVERY farm for a while.

I think chests are visible only to an individual farmer. tried this with a friend, we couldn't see the chest at the same time on the same spot in one of our farms. if it's locked I tap on the X and it sinks. there was a time when I would unlock them though
