Hey folks, been playing with the iPad iii for about a year now, enjoy the convince and portability for web surfing and some game playing, but find photo apps to be lacking in one main aspectp can't seem to save a photo with a meaningful name! What gives?

That is a photo from my photo roll. I would like to be able to rename them. What gives?

Hi TDWay. You can't directly provide a caption for a photo in your Camera Roll unless you use one of the apps in the App Store that provide that facility. You may come across what suits you with some diligent searching there. Here's a thread in our forum that has some discussion of that:
