Ok....I am the newest newbie here and haven't had an Apple product since my Apple II+ in university. I am entrenched in google-land with 1000's of contacts, personal and work calendars and 10's of thousands of emails that I need to access, keep in sync, and most important keep safe from deletion/data corruption. As advised in these firums, I setup my gmail via exchange server - I haven't used outlook in quite awhile, but all indications were that this was the best way to access gmail from iPad. Looking in my iPad contacts list, first off, the contacts don't come right up; I see there are two "links" under the heading "Exchange" - one says "contacts" and the other says " exchange global address list" (this doesn't appear to access any data). Is there a way to have it open contacts directly when I click on the adds book? The contacts link does appear to have my contacts from gmail, but the data-mapping looks incomplete. For starters, some of my contacts have 6+ phone numbers (a lot of "custom" fields were setup for this purpose) and only 4 seem to have come over: Work, work, fax and home. Similar with email addresses - it appears only 3 came over. Although inconvenient at times, I have stored most of my husband/wife contacts as 1 contact record - making for numerous #'s his work, cell her work & cell, home #'s, vacation home, etc.. Guidance, suggestions and feedback are most appreciated! Thanks!
