Finding a stolen apple product

I want to set up all of my apple products with the free mobile me account so I can locate them if they are lost/stolen. Do I simply create an email address in settings>mobile me or how do I go about this and how to I check to see where they are?

I did it with out a mobile me account. I just use my apple ID.

nevermind, I just updated to IOS 5 and it is included in the update.
