It would have been better if the find my iPhone app works in a way that when u ipad is stolen for example, when u send a lock message in a case where the ipad is turned off, when the message hits the ipad when turned on, apart from the email that is sent to the apple id email, a location either in coordinates or map view of where the ipad is as at that time be added to the email. Because what thieves do, once a lock message comes into the ipad, they immediately remove the SIM card. So apple needs to I prove on it
