In the 80's, when Australian beer companies learned that jewel beetles tried to mate with their bottles, because parts of the surface resembled lady beetles, they changed the design.

In 2009, Dr. Donald Unger won an Ig Nobel Prize for proving that crackling knuckles doesn't cause arthritis. He was consequently crackling those of his left hand every day for 60 years, but not those of his right hand.

Despite the name, catguts are not made of any parts of a cat. They are made from the intestines of goat or sheep.

In Turkey, you can find a city called Batman. It's the capital of Batman Province and lies near the confluence of Batman River and Tigris.

Yet the day is interesting for being so incredibly boring.

In 2009, a 10-year-old girl tried to "sell" her grandmother on ebay. She described her as annoying but cuddly. There were quite a few offers, before the ad was removed. Reason: ebay doesn't allow humans to be bought and sold.
