Can I extend the USB cord on the charger?

Mines been permanently on a usb extension for over a year now due to cabling/positioning of my iPad stand and it's never been a problem. Power supply is in an awkward place.

I recently ordered me a 6 foot USB cable to charge my iPad. Would not charge do I had to go back nd use the length that came with iPad.

Some aftermarket cords are not made to the proper standards. If the cord does not work, it should be returned.

I took the power adaptor AC plug off and plugged a 'figure of 8' AC power cord in from an old amp I owned once. The adaptor now sits about 3 or 4 foot away from the wall socket and the USB just plugs in as normal.

If you have an Apple keyboard that came with an extender, then you can use that one. I've done everything from charging at full speed to jailbreaking with that keyboard extender.
