My son attempted to jailbreak his iPad last year, I'm not sure if he did or not but we had major problems. Thanks to the help of you wonderful people we were able to get it working again. While it was jailbroken/having problems it was connected to iTunes and we can't remember if it synced /backed up or not.

Anyway he is now having memory problems. He just has the standard iPad 2 apple apps (safari, settings etc) and it is saying there is only 27mb free. We have forgotten the restrictions passcode so we tried putting the iPad into the DMU (or something like that) mode. iTunes gives us the option of upgrade to iOS9 or restore. We can't upgrade because iOS9 needs 615mb and we don't want to restore because we think the iPad may have been backed up while it was jailbroken with major problems.

How can we wipe the iPad clean and restore it to "just out of the box" settings?

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Go back into DFU mode and select the restore option. It will erase the iPad and update it to iOS 9. When the update and restore is completed you'll be given the option to set it up as a new iPad or from a backup. Select the new iPad option and you'll have an iPad in factory condition running iOS 9. You can then add whatever content you wish manually.
