Email response time?

I use my iPad numerous times during the day or evening. As a result, and bearing in mind the Mail app is in the Dock, it’s pretty obvious when I’ve got a new email. My email response time for important correspondence is therefore normally quite quick. Sadly it’s often the case that I don’t get a response from others for several days sometimes.
How’s your experience with this, is it similar?
