When I download email on my iPad, I get an error message that the account is in use on another device. That device would be my iPod. Not sure why there is a conflict.
I, too, get that same message with my ISP e-mail, which is a POP account (I access the account either via my iPhone or the iPad). I don't know why I get it either, especially when I have closed the app and deleted it from the multitasker bar. Actually, I just thought it was a glitch in my ISP's mail (or because it's a POP account). Glad to hear it's not just me!
All I do is keep trying and eventually, I don't get the message. No other solution for you, sorry.

I have an iPad one and have not had any conflicts with downloading my email or sending whether it be from my laptop or my iPad. But just recently I get the error msg " The account **** is in use on another device ". I used to be able to have Outlook open on my laptop and Mail open and my iPad at the same time and I do anything I wanted on either device without shutting the other one down. I checked my Settings and couldn't find anything that would help. Can someone out there give any advice? (other than to check my manual lol )
