Can someone help me with Dropbox. I have downloaded it and placed some photos into it. Now I would like to download them to my iPad and when they are downloaded delete them off Dropbox so I can make more room for other photos. I would like to save whole folders if possible. If I cannot do this with Dropbox can I use any other app?

When I open Dropbox on my iPad it only opens in the browser and I cannot see anywhere to mark them as favorites so I can save them to the pictures folder.

Dropbox isn't really meant to work like that - especially on an iPad. If you are uploading a lot of photos you may want to consider getting something like Flickr - which is what I use. $25/year for unlimited photos. Then you can view them from any device - and there are plenty of Apps that connect to flickr. I am sure there are other photo sharing sites that cost similar - but Flickr gave me the most amount of tools to manipulate photos - plus I bought an eye-fi card and it integrates well with Flickr.

If you want to use Dropbox that way - there is a dropbox app that will let you save photos individually to your iPad. Then once you delete them on dropbox they are deleted everywhere. Didn't find a way to move everything in a folder to the photo app.

Thank you for your reply. That is what I want but Dropbox does not open like that. It only opens in the browser. Why is that??

Do you have the DropBox app installed on your iPad? If you do, you should be able to tap the DropBox app and see what you have there and then go from there.

Yes, as the above post says, get the Dropbox app from the App Store. It is free. That will allow more functionality, as the web version of Dropbox won't work seamlessly with the iPad. The iPad does not have system wide drag & drop in the same manner as Windows.

I do have the Dropbox app. That is why I cannot understand why it only opens in the browser. It did not last time I used it. I must have tapped something I shouldn't have.

Could you have opened a document using the Dropbox app's browser and that's why it appears as if it is in the browser? Also, you can press an arrow in the Dropbox app's quick view screen to get a full screen. This may make it look as if you are in the browser.

Could you have created a Dropbox bookmark (from Safari) and have that on your springboard and be pressing that instead of the actual app? I know that bookmarks can look exactly like the app ... when they are just web links.

Could you attach a screen shot of what your Dropbox app looks like when you first open it? I, too, am curious as to why the Dropbox app opens in the browser.

I think I have solved it. It was actually Dropbox home. I deleted that and next time I opened Dropbox, it looked correct
