There are millions of iPad and iPhone users out there who are relying on Dropbox for their cloud storage needs, and that's why every new update is an important one. Recently, document previews and smarter search features have been released for Android users and now Dropbox brings some new changes to iPhone and iPad users, as well.

Version 3.3 of Dropbox for iPhone and iPad bring an enhancement to the built-in search feature, letting you search within Word and PowerPoint documents with “higher fidelity previews”. Also, Dropbox now syncs larger animated GIFs than before. Also, the app comes with improved caching using less data and therefore less storage space on your device.

Let's have a look at the entire Dropbox 3.3 changelog:
  • Search within Word and PowerPoint documents thanks to new, higher fidelity previews
  • Support for larger animated GIFs
  • Smarter caching uses less data and disk space
  • Dropbox is better at opening back to where you were
  • Assorted bug fixes
Dropbox is available for free in the App Store as a 28.5-megabyte download. Dropbox storage starts at just 2 gigabytes of free cloud storage space when you sign up, but you can purchase either a $25.99 three-month or $99.99 annual subscription to Dropbox Pro directly in the iOS app.
