Dragonvale Tips & Tricks! (NO Friend Requests!)

I'm redecorating again. I need space on my 8th island, so those big beautiful tress have got to go.

I've decided I am not going to upgrade my metal habitat to giant form, because the metal dragons are not big earners, and my habitat is often empty as I breed my rust dragons for $. I have also decided that my remaining habitats in my storage tower that have not been upgraded will remain that way until I need to bring them out again for breeding. I upgraded my fire habitat yesterday as I was working towards my bouquet dragons. 2 habitats to go - lightning and plant. Bring on a new dragon with either of these elements and I will upgrade then.

How's everyone going with their bouquet dragons? It's a nice feeling having all the gemstone dragons as I continue to work towards those gold crowns.

I've gotten both of my bouquet dragons. I was about to breed for my display egg, but I realized I never bred my apocalypse display egg! I still haven't gotten one of my dragons to level 20. With the new updates dc has been Scarce, but the giant habitats really help! I love them!

Thanks Di really nice after the long haul last month. Still trying for a Emerald dragon, put the first egg on Display. I have now Been playing for a year, this game gives me so much enjoyment. I cleared the huge ricks off my newest island. The trees will stay for a while until I really need the space.

I upgraded my metal. I think Forge is a pretty good metal earner. I, too, breed rust for DC. If I remember correctly, it's slightly less DC than iron, but you're not committed to stay up on it as often as rust takes slightly longer. I put the rust in the water hab. The cap was way lower, although off the top of my head I don't know what it is now, nor if I should re-think the plan.

I haven't upgraded lightning nor plant either, but may just to stay on top of things, be flexible. Plus I would rather spend gems on upgrading as opposed to speed breeding.

Have up used any gems to upgrade shrines? I haven't done that yet. Not sure if I want to. What's your thoughts on that?

I got my shrines the old fashioned way, and months before backflip brought in the option of upgrading with gems. If it was an option I most likely would have chosen that, but I'm not sure, does that mean all your dragons for that element level up immediately? I'm purely working on my gold crowns now. My next to be crowned is my gift dragon. 2 more days and I think I will have enough treats. Getting ready for bed now, so swapping my two cold habitats for 2 Olympus - more $ in the morning - I'm a die hard player. O, I'm breeding 2 more blue moon as I have reached level 45. My 4 rust dragons went into the hibernation cave today, and I stored my metal habitat in the tower for now and replaced it with a rare habitat - always thinking strategy.

Thank you for sharing al your ideas it is very helpful. I still haven't used gems to upgrade my shrines. I am quite close on two shrines as there have been quite a few new dragons released. It is taking longer than I thought to plan my island changes and so have only upgraded a few habitats. If only I could decide on what is the best balance of each type of habitat.

Best of luck on your emerald and your second bouquet. I've been trying to figure out what to do with my 8th island, or my 'cash island'. This is what I've done with it so far. I was thinking about taking an upgraded earth habitat off my second (non-epic limited dragons) and filling it with panlongs. Or would it be better to go with a moon/sun habitat?
Then after I'm done with that I still have my baby (4th) island to decorate. Having 8 giant habitats on it leaves little room for decorating.

You ARE die hard! I thought I was, but you surely got me beat!

That's great that you did your shrines the old fashioned way. I think that's what I'm feeling at the moment. Right now, I feel like earning them, not buying them. Re: question about them leveling up. I think that the only thing that's different is after you buy your shrine upgrade, you don't have to accumulate the 50 in order to take a dragon to level 20. That's how I understand it anyway. Not too concerned as I'm holding off.

I'm glad my thoughts can help. I get a lot of help on this forum! . As far as balance of habs, think of the caps, how often you have to check them before they reach their cap and stop earning. That's how I think about it anyway. Also make sure boosts are on the correct islands and you don't have opposing elements as much as possible. Go for max DC.

Hi DV family I miss you guys!! Haven't felt too good this baby has me very sick n tired lol positive is that means strong pregnancy!!!! I miss my dragons still managed to get my newest favorite bouquet!!!! I love her!!!! That salamander has been a hard one I keep getting coral! Happy that now I can try for frostfire didn't notice I only had one of until now I need it's egg for my display n to complete my family theme!! Still thinking what am going to do with my new island I've read something about strategies about the new habitats but I barely have time to do anything so I will take it slow........ Ok wishing you all happy breeding!!!!!
