Well, I was impatient and sped the last bit of the breeding up only to discover it was a stupid, horrible cold dragon. Not only that but then I decided to try the cold/bone suggestion just in case it could be lucky for me and I ended up with the 14hr mountain dragon that I SERIOUSLY did not want. Dragonvale hates me

Ugh! I kept getting those while working on something else. It's been hating me lately too. Don't feel bad. I guess I have that to look forward to here soon. Hope you get it soon!

Hi all, it's been a few days since I've been able to get on here for any length of time.
Doesnt seem I'll be able to catch up with all the posts I've missed but a quick read through seems it's mostly still Iceberg/Frostfire, rares, gem list and shrines related so at least I dont feel like I'm completely out of the loop, haha.

Thankfully no "and others sent you gems" notifications for me the last couple of nights!

Finally got my first, and only so far, Frostfire incubating. Got it with Cold x Blazing on my EBI, after multiple tries of that combo and a few of of Cold x Firefly etc too. Put the same pair straight back in but just got another 8 hours breed time (probably another Blazing).
Don't think I mentioned that I'd already got two Icebergs as well? Well, I did - both with just plain Water x Cold.

On a random note, does anyone else look at the Fog dragon and automatically think it looks like it's continually farting? Terrible and juvenile I know but it is seriously the first split second though I have every time I catch sight of it...like the cartoon stink clouds when someone passes gas, hehe. Sorry all.

Question About Level 29

I'm at Level 28 about halfway to Level 29 and I'm wondering if there are any new goodies at 29? I'd especially like to get another habitat or two.

While I'm asking, what about Level 30 goodies?

BTW, I have found one of best XP producers is buying 10,000 treats (peppers) for $500,000 (which also seems like the must productive way to buy treats). I generally keep 7-8 of my treat farms busy producing 800 treats (pumpermelons I think) in 6 hours for $15,000 and keep the others open for the one minute 10K deal.

Any other ideas on good XP producers - or better way to buy treats?

yeah I was starting to give up but this new dragons just gave me a reason to get back here. I was just recently able to collect all the gems for the breeding island. So I've been trying to get frostbite and moon with no luck :-( im glad to see that our community has been expanding :-D

Hey gabriella, stay at it, theywill come soon. it tookme ages to get my second moon and 3 months to get a second sandstorm, so all my fingers are crossed for you wish wish wish luck luck luck.

Yeah I was debating going back to trying for rares or a Sandstorm/Bluefire for the new goals but then stuck with the quest for a Frostfire thankfully. Not sure how long I'll try for a second though. My patience is not what it was right now and I find myself switching and changing my mind about what to do/try next. We'll see.

Haha, yeah you've got a whole stinky island thing going on Your poor Water, Ice, Seaweed and Swamp getting all stunk out on there, hahaha.

Haha ik patience is the answer but i dont think my app likes me :$ im breeding iceberg and fire and i get a normal ice berg.. Ive been trying to breed blue fire about 10 times now and its giving me these(some idk how):
1) frostfire(3 owned, 1 sold)
2) iceberg(3 owned, 2 sold)
3) storm (3 owned, 2 sold)
4) fire dragon (2 owned, 4 sold)
And more lol..

turn them around try fire and iceberg.
Then go back to iceberg and fire sometimes it helps

Gigglegutz is correct that there is no combo - you can only buy it.
Air is the ONLY 'pure' element dragon that can be bred with two different pure elements (Fire x Water). You'd have to already have a Water or water-hybrid to breed a Water.

I finally got a 48hr timer by breeding flower/storm.
I really hope it's a rainbow like some of you great guys have shared.
Keeping my fingers cross while anticipating the egg..

Sorry, I am only halfway through Level 25 so can't help you with personal experience, but the wiki has this:
Leveling Rewards - DragonVale Wiki

which should give you the info you are looking for (mostly seems to show one extra habitat per level with the sixth island available at level 30).

If you can afford the top 3 treats then they are a good and quick XP producer also because you arent just purely 'buying XP', like when you build and sell decorations, as you'll usually use all the food eventually anyway.
Buying Pumpermelons or Dragonfruit are better value coins per XP but obviously take much longer so not as good value timewise (unless you can spare gems to speed them up)

I generally switch between Blushrooms and Pumpermelons most of the time, only now using the top 3 if I desperately need the XP or food really fast (usually when I get impatient to be at the next level when I'm 'just so close', hehe)

A gold in the colosseum still gives the most XP in one hit but obviously it takes 24 hours each time with no guarantee of exactly how much you'll get.
