I have an airprint enabled printer. My iPad2 prints to that printer with no problems. But I can't figure out how to turn off the color printing (want a black and white printout) so I can preserve my color ink.

I don't think there is any way to do this directly on the iPad. But can you save the file that you want to print as a black-and-white file?

I usually want to print web pages, internet articles, etc. Maybe Apple will improve Airprint in the next release to include Printer Properties!

Yeah there is no way as far as I know, I would like this options as well. Not related to AirPrint but I wish I could find out how to get my HP printer to stop using the Photo black cartridge and just use the normal black cartridge.

It there an app for that? (i.e., an app that allows you to choose to print in black and white?). Thanks.

Why don't you install original HP driver for your device? It will give you lots of useful features and better quality.
