Developing with Phone Gap

please i am a newbie to ios development. And i am trying to develop with phone gap and i have no clue as to how to set it up. I have tried different tutorials but i cant just seem to get it to work. please can sombody help? or direct me to a material, tutorial, or resource that can be of help. please it is urgent. Thanks

Briefly:
-Download and install phonegap for xcode
-Create new cordova based app
-Try to run
-Drag www-folder into your project references
-Replace index.html with your own
