Connecting iPad 2 to my amp

I need to know how to connect my ipad to my amp. I've got an irig connector and the amplitube app but the sound that the ipad makes is not enough loud.
So help me!

I connect my iPad to a sound system all the time. I simply use a 3.5mm connector from the headphone jack to 1/4" into the sound board. Output levels from the iPad are consistent with most other sources. If one needs a balanced input, a direct box would work well.

Make sure your volume level on the iPad is turned up.
