Hello All

I need some help. I just got an Ipad 64gb 3G - Everything is working fine, also the 3g with my local carrier

Before JB, I backed up my SHSH blobs http://www.ipadjailbreak.com/2010/05/ipad-shsh-blobs.html then I used Spirit but it got stucked on the loading screen after rebooting and I could not get out of the screen.

I had to restored my Ipad and tried to JB 3 more times and the same hapenned.

Then I used blackrain - but the same happened - I got stucked on Apple Logo but was able to reboot Ipad and get out of the Apple Logo screen. But jailbreak was not succed.

Any Help ? What should I do to JB it.

Version 3.2 ( 7b367)
Carrier 6.0
Model MC497LL
Serial V501790UETV
Modem Firmware 06.15.00

Thank you guys.
P.S - Sorry for my English

The best you can do is exchange your iPad and don’t JB the new one …. lot of people get stuck after they JB …..

When you play a game, be sure you can assume it…

JB can just give you hassle doesn’t exist with the original device

I don't see why exchange the Ipad , it's working perfect after restore.

I have been JB Iphones since 1.0.1 and have never had a problem.

JB can give you a hassle sometimes but you can get a little more of your device.

After all I still want to JB it. If anybody could help me I would appreciate

Your english is fine!!

Spirit JB works great on the iPad - no issues or downsides.

If you are having problems it is most likely your computer, not the iPad.

What OS are you using?
Do you have the latest version of Spirit?
The original version had issues.

Download a new copy.
Restore iPad as a new device.
Update to latest itunes.
Connect iPad to computer and start itunes.
Right click on Spirit (if on windows) and select properties.
Check 'Run as Administrator'
Run Spirit.

All should be well.

Let us know if you have more problems.

This is the correct method, but you can read everywhere some people got stuck and get trouble ..

Since the gen 1 i have JB my iPhone when i got my first 3G i do the same but time to time i have to restore so one i exchange it for a new one factory unlock and he work like a charm … so my 3Gs it’s the same non JB and no trouble … you can guess my iPad is not JB and i can live with it …

i know in the JB scene lot of good app’s but also many are so so coded so after some trouble come … Saurik can’t test fully all app’s in Cydia you can’t deny this point right ?

I don't want to appear rude or impolite, but as I mentioned earlier......just use Jailbreak, when you REALLY know, what you do.

Thank you for your reply. But first to let you know I could JB the Ipad and going to explain a little better down below.

I am using Mac OSx 10.6.3 - Itunes 9.1.1 and the latest version of Spirit but I downloaded it again just to be sure.

I got tired of getting stucked and gave up JB. Installed all the apps, data, video etc.

I was desperate to JB it and something on my mind told to give it one more try.

I goggled and found a guy that had the same problem, he advised me to don't hit quit until the whole process was done and I see Cydia on the springboard

That's what I did.

Hope it could help anybody with the same problem.

Thank you all for your concern

yeah just hit jailbreak on the spirit app and leave everything alone until you see the springboard. It has that weird rainbow screen where it installs the data.

Plug in iPad and let iTunes load and sync
Turn off auto sync feature in iTunes
Turn off iTunes and unplug iPad
Plug iPad back I and MAKE SURE that iTunes does not launch
If it does launch TURN OFF AUTO SYNC

Now with iPad plugged in and iTunes turned of....RUN SPIRT

enjoy your jailbreak

Unable to jailbreak my iPad

I have the same issue, and I really think that I tried everything possible, Im running 10.6.3/10.5.8/windows iTunes is up to date, latest spirit.
All the steps described made fresh on all those systems 10.6.3/10.5.8/ windows- I restored the iPad, did a new iPad every time, run spirit, waited, didn't clicked the quit, and the status bar of this psychedelic picture of spirit never finished all the way up, and after every jailbreak I get cydia at the screen but when I try to open it it crashes after less than a sec..I have no idea what more to do..
Also must to say that I try accessing the iPad through a program called DiskAid but when I try to access the root folder I get an error saying "the device must be jailbroken in order to access the root folder" that tells me that my iPad jailbreak is unsuccessful, am I wrong?

I wanted to post a link to YouTube to one of my videos but I obviously need to post 3 times in the forum before I can do that so link is on the way..

Really hope for some help soon..
Thanks!

LOL so the whole problem was just you being impatient?

JB might not be for you then, your ipad WILL get slower, meaning you will have more time waiting.

I found out, that if you not use actual hardware with the up to date OS, then there is a good chance that Spirit fails and bricks your iPad.

I found that out yesterday, when my friend used an older white Intel iMac and bricked his iPad. After trying with a G4 MacMini we got the same result.

Same setup with the latest MacBook Pro Spirit did it's magic instantly.

This was reproducable with two more iPads.

Not a universal app, use with Intel based Macs.
