Tap it once, then this should come:




Where you can tap "Done".

Two things I can suggest,

First, I assume that you have tried tapping it to get the close or done option at top left?

If you've done that, press and hold the home and on/off buttons together until the Apple logo appears and then let your iPad reboot, you should hopefully be fine after that.
