After reading an email on my Ipad mini and trying to send it to the trash I get the message that it can not be moved to the trash. HELP

Go to Settings - Mails, Contacts, Calendar. Tap the account which causes the problem. Then choose your email address:
On the next page, select "Advanced Settings":
Then make sure this is enabled on the next page:
