Hi all, I have an iPad 2 and an android phone ( Galaxy). I have a photo on the phone that I would like to transfer to my iPad. I have 'introduced' the devices but when I try to send the file the iPad message is "device not in range" even though I have the phone in one hand and the iPad in the other. Any one know what I am doing wrong?

Hi, Maeve! Welcome to iPF!

It's not possible to transfer photos from one device to another just by connecting them to each other. Bluetooth on an iPad is meant to connect with accessories such as headphones or keyboards.

Maybe there's an app that can help doing this via Bluetooth. You'll have to search for it in App Store.

It's easier to use online storage, like Dropbox, Box, Flickr, ... (there are actually a lot of them) and sync the pictures that way.

Hope that helps.

If you just have the one photo to transfer, you could email the photo to yourself. You would then open the email on your iPad and save the photo to your camera roll.
