This just happened to me also. Have submiited a ticket. Thankfully had a screenshot so i know what my city looked like.
Plase let us know what is happening. Hopefully GI is able to undo the resetting. Otherwise this would be kiler bug that might affect quite a couple of players, as already two here in the forum reported this.
Regaridng backing up in the cloud: does this help w.r.t. the big business game? I guess most of the game's part is stored on GI servers, so if there is a problem with their servers or their database that leads to a game reset, a cloud backup probably does not help you very much...?

I hope they can fix it as i'm one of the unfortunate ones that have been pulled into this game and spent real money on it.
I'm wondering if it may be an iCloud issue as Apple are currently reporting an issue that's affecting all iCloud services - 50% users affected.

My BB backs up the cloud - when I switched from my iPad 2 to the new iPad, it all transitioned very smoothly via the cloud and the game was restored perfectly; I don't think GI store the games on their side (could be wrong) because if you don't connect to them the game continues to run.
I would be incredibly hacked off if my game was reset (wiped).
Please keep us updated with what happens guys.

Didn't hear about Apple's issues - I don't think a problem with iCloud would cause this because it's used to backup and restore only... so it doesn't affect things happening in real time, like playing a game - this would almost certainly be a GI problem... and I would be hacked off too, because I've spent money on their game too (and quite a bit at that).

I really feel for you kiwiguy - forget about the money; think of the 'life' you'll have spent on the game, and you can't get re-imbursed for that

A glorious small error in the contest occurred yesterday so instead of just 2 silver medals I got 3! I hope this happens every time! I think the small error was the Internet popup.

Yes, that was to the internet error. Everyone got one silver medal extra. You are lucky that the contest actually worked and you got 2 additional medals...
