When I turn off my IPAD without charging it. The next time I turn on the IPAD - the batterey % is lower. It seems as if it never shuts down properly? Am I doing something wrong? If I forget to charge overnight the battery is dead in the morning?

Are you turning the iPod OFF or are you just putting it to SLEEP?

If you're just touching the power button once quickly, then the iPad is just going to sleep. Some functions like WiFi and 3G continue working.. But if the battery is going dead when you're in sleep mode overnight, then there probably is something wrong. Perhaps the battery is fault. I'd consult Apple to see what they say.

In order to turn the iPad off, you have to hold the power button in for over three seconds. Once you do this, an OFF slider will appear on the screen.. Slide it over and the iPad will be off.

Are you running ios 4.2?

if so ... try checking that all of your apps are actually shut down properly and not still running in the background. To do this, double click the home button until you see the 'running apps' in the task bar. Hold one of them down until they all shake then tap the small red/white close button to close each app.

I find that the battery drains faster in ios 4.2. Previously, it used to last me a week, as per my usage pattern. Now it drains in 5 days. (I didn't turn it off then with the earlier OS, nor do I now. I only put it to sleep, after checking that all apps are closed.)

Ok, another noob question. How many of you actually turn off your iPad ?, and not just putting it into sleep mode. And is there a big difference on the batteri usage, when it is off or insleep mode.

Furthermore, mentioned in this post, turn off all running aps before putting it into sleep. Well is there any way to shut down apps all at once instead of doing it one by one.

Lokking forward to your replys.
